As our trading day draws to a close the ASX200 finished at 5903.00 for a loss of 59.40 points or -1.00%, just managing to hang on to 5900 after it was looking a little dicey at some stages during the day. The big question will be how Europe will first respond to the news of Gary Cohn’s resignation and will the US recover from the lows seen during our time zone or will the roller coaster ride extend into their trading day.
Wrapping up our session we had MND -6.81%, EHE -4.86% and BPT -4.51% along with PTM which also managed a loss of 4.51% on the day. Some of the better news came from RFG which gained 5.26%, RSG +3.40% and NUF +2.26%
Currency markets have held ground so far with the AUDUSD at 0.7804, EURUSD 1.2414, USDJPY 105.68 and USDCAD 1.2926. Spot gold has traded a little lower from the mornings highs and currently finds itself trading at USD $1333.00 per ounce
