As this week comes to a close the ASX200 pushes back towards the key 6000 level with a close at 5961.40 for a gain of 18.50 points or 0.31% ahead of the afternoon match. Tonight markets will be looking to employment numbers due for release in the United States and any potential impact on interest rate markets.
On the local market today GMA finished 8.09% higher, VOC chipped in with a gain of 4.83% , WEB closed +4.27% and AAC consolidated on gains from yesterday to close 3.86% higher. Resources did tough today with the likes of ILU lower by 6.78%, RSG-6.35% and WSA closed the week out with a loss of 5.33%
On the currency front the AUDUSD remains below USD 0.7800 at 0.7790, USDJPY is trading at 106.65 and EURUSD remains at the lower end of the day’s range at 1.2311 following on from the move lower after the ECB comments yesterday.
Spot gold is trading back towards the lower end of recent trading ranges at USD $1318.00 per ounce and bitcoin has had another day of losses falling almost 7% to be trading at USD $8675
